Problem with Furnace and front AC

All of a sudden my furnace and front AC don't work. Both are controlled by the same thermostat which I suspect is the culprit. The only thing that works in this thermostat is the fan. I have checked the fuses and circuit breakers without success. I have also tried the generator with same results. I have a 2007 Gulf Stream, Conquest Super C with a Suburban Furnace and Dometic Duo Therm AC. A month ago both were working fine. Also have full propane tank. Any suggestions as to the problem, and solution?

RE: First Time Snowbird

While we are not first time snowbirds, we would like to try someplace else besides Florida, however, we would still like to stay on the East Coat, e.g. South Carolina or Georgia. Has anyone out there spent the winter in one of these states? Looking for some suggestions.

RE: KODIAK FUEL CAPACITY

I have a 2007 Gulf Stream Conquest Super C built on the Kodiak Chasis with the Chevy (C55000 8.1 vortex engine). I just filled up when the gas gauge was just about showing 1/2 full. It took 44 gallons. GS says that I have an 80 gal. tank. My biggest problem is that it takes forever to fill, as the pump keeps shuting off. This happens whether I hold the pump or put it on automatic. Seeing my Chevy dealer next week. Since dropping my speed to 55-60 MPH I have been getting between 8-9.6 mpg towing a Saturn ION.

RE: SENECA MIRROR

I have a Gulf Stream Conquest Super C on the Chevy/Kodiak chassis and have great mirrors much bigger than the Seneca 36MS that I have been looking at. Not sure why the mirrors are different on the same chasis. I was thinking that if I purchased the Seneca I would put on the same type mirrors that I presently have.

RE: Electric Sofa / Hide-A-Bed Sofa

I have had both types of sofa's. My present sofa is the hide-a-bed type. As far as I am concerned, I liked the Jack Knife better. The full sofa/bed comes with a very thin mattress, and the bar hurts your back while sleeping. Also, from what I have seen, the electric or manual jack-knife sofa is usually wider (3 pillow seats) as compared to 2 pillow seats for hide-a-bed, thus, when being used as a sofa, the jack-knife type is usually bigger. One other thing that I did not think about when I purchased my present motor home is the fact that when the slides are in, you cannot open your hide-a-bed to its full length. Now for most people that may not be important, but, my spouse needs to rest a lot, and prefers to do it on the sofa when we are driving, but with the present hide-a-bed system she has a hard time being comfortable on the shorter hide-a-bed. In the last MH she was able to open the Jack-knife type sofa and be comfortable. Oh well, just some of my thoughts.

RE: Myrtle Beach area -> non-sardine campground?

My site was mostly sand/dirt. It was a great site, however, it did rain for several days which made our site extremely soggy. In fact, it was almost impossible to get out our door without getting our feet wet. The further back you are from the water, the more grassy the sites. I think you would also be happy at the lake sites, and as I said previously, there are those new pull thru's which are on concrete slabs. Hope this helps. P.S. Not sure why you could not get thru to me directly. I am going to check that out now.

RE: From LA to L.A.: Suggestions for a 2000 mile journey.

I agree with Rocky 2. I would definitely see San Antonio's River Walk and of course the Alamo. Tombstone is also always on my list. I also agree with Rocky 2 that you might need more time to see the above. When I made the above trip I went from LA to Las Vegas, and stayed at the Boomtown Casino RV Park. Good luck, there is so much to see and do along your route.

RE: Myrtle Beach area -> non-sardine campground?

Just returned from a week stay at Pirateland RV Park. Stayed across the street from the water. It was not crowed at all, of course it was only April. Had water, electric, sewer and cable for $33 per night. Have all the amenities you would need, convenient to most things outside of the park, including the just opened Hard Rock Amusement park. Piarateland also has a lazy river setup. Quite nice park. They just opened a new section of pull thru's on concrete slabs which is great if you should have heavy rains. Good luck.

RE: 2008 Seneca HD Diesel 36FS Double slides

Correction to "thinking of buying a 2008 Senecca HD Diesel" I am thinking of buying the MS Model and not the FS. SORRY!

2008 Seneca HD Diesel 36FS Double slides

Thinking of buy a 2008 Seneca HD Diesel 36FS. Is there anything I should be looking out for? Heard that it should have the 19,000 springs. Appreciate hearing from anyone who has this unit. Also, what can I expect in the way of gas mileage, having never had a diesel before. This unit comes with a Duramax 6.6L, 330hp diesel and a 6 speed Allison trans on the Kodiak Chasis.

RE: Class C MPG

I have a 36ft. Conquest Super C and tow a Saturn Ion. While I only have 3,000 miles on this unit (Chevy Vortec 8.1), I recently obtained 8-10 MPG on a 1200 mile trip (mainly open highways). Locally, I have been only getting about 6 MPG. Hope I will get better mileage as the unit breaks in.
